My oldest and dearest friend was here in Florence this week, so of course we went shopping EVERY day! Scarves, handbags, fashion and jewelry dominated our shopping adventures. The earrings she purchased are a dangling version of my Etruscan earrings. She opted for a combination of white and rose gold with a diamond in the center. They are lovely, and what a good price! A nice Mother’s Day gift from her husband.
While we were designing the earrings, we asked to see the stone options for this ring:
The one in the photo is mine, and I had one made for each of my daughters. One in rose gold with the frosted pink stone, and one in yellow gold with the blue stone. The stones are cut like a mushroom and inserted, so there are no prongs on the ring. A slice of mother of pearl is under the stone, and this gives a very interesting depth and sheen to it.You can even wear two or three of the rings together because they stack!
The weather here is perfect with sun and cool breezes. Think I will plan a little trip to Vicenza to view the jewelry museum there! I might come back with more ideas for new pieces to add to my collection…..
